Rev. Stanley F. Rother was born in 1935 in Okarche, Oklahoma and ordained to the priesthood on May 25, 1963.  He spent his first five years of his ministry in Tulsa, Durant, and Oklahoma City.  Fr. Rother began his missionary work in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala in June, 1968 where he worked until he was martyred in July 1981.

Fr. Rother was presented to Pope John Paul II for consideration of sainthood in 1996.
